(Guest post) Injury and training research request

Dear Runners 
I am currently studying for a MSc in Advanced Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation Science, from Teesside University. To fulfill part of my course I am conducting research into “The Relationship Mental Toughness has with Coping with Injury and Rehabilitation Adherence in Runners” the study aims to look at any gender, age group and participation level differences.

(Member blog post) Richmond Park Marathon – Laura’s Race Report

While I haven’t been able to train with you all, I have been running on my own and a few months ago entered the first ever Richmond Park Marathon which took place Sunday May 15th. (Essentially 3 and a half rather hilly laps of Richmond Park limited to 300 runners). I’m happy to say I had a really good race. The weather and scenery were beautiful and it was nice to do a small, interesting event on trails, and paths and in the woods. Read more

Here are some upcoming local runs highlighted by Niall if anyone is interested:

  • Sunday 22nd May – The South London 10km- Wimbledon at 9. A.M
  • Monday the 6th June – 2 miles – Battersea Park – 7 P.M
  • Saturday 11th June – 10 Km – Battersea Park – 8 A.M
  • Monday 20th June – 3 x1 mile relay (team event) – Battersea Park – 7 P.M

My third LM and the first flying club class, courtesy of the TV Times/Leukaemia Research team. Didn’t make the running any easier, of course, but at least I’ll be able to tell the grandchildren I once shared a tent with Sir Matthew Pinsent, James Cracknell – and Joe Pasquale. Read more
