Small, friendly and fun running club based in Clapham/ Battersea with members of all ages, abilities and experience


Clapham Runners is a small, friendly club set up in 2005 with members of all abilities, ages and experience. We are not necessarily ultra competitive but we are all there to improve speed and endurance. Club running keeps it fun!

We meet three times a week – Tuesdays are interval sessions on Clapham Common and Thursdays are speed work and core training at Battersea Track. Most Saturdays you will find several of us at parkrun too (club favourite is Tooting). All are welcome to any session – there’s no obligation to join, it’s about liking how we train – but come regularly, and you will start running faster.

The weekly coached session (Thursdays) is led by Jon Munroe, a qualified trainer and former Commonwealth long jumper. Many of us run in the spring marathon season, and other events throughout the year from 10kms to trail running and the Thames River Relay. The training and coaching caters for all-comers and interests as well as those recovering from injury throughout the year.

  1. Any chance I could join? Recently moved to Clapham and have not trained for about a year. Also, is there a fee?


    • Hi Ashley, yes of course do come along, we’d love to see you. We run together every Tuesday and Thursday evenings (see for details, and there’s a map on the homepage). We pay £15 a month to the club for coaching and England Athletics membership. Joining the club is a great way to get back into training and of course meet friendly people.

  2. Hi there, I was looking to join and get back in shape. Would like to put in some competent 5km and 10km times again. Does your training equip for those distances!

    Is membership still £15 a month?



  3. Hi! I’m keen to come and train with you guys this week if possible. Training for my first marathon in April and thought the speed and interval sessions might really boost my training!
